The Denton, Maryland Police Department is a full-service department with three divisions: Administrative, Patrol, and Criminal Investigations. It also has two K-9 teams and a Special Response Team.
Challenge
The department was using Visual Staff Scheduler Pro to schedule officers and employees. Developed by Atlas Business Solutions, the software worked well for employee scheduling. However, VSS Pro could not provide real-time schedule information to officers when they were in the field. Additionally, staff schedules were frequently updated, and administrators could not easily communicate changes to employees. That meant officers often had incorrect schedule information, resulting in improper staffing levels.

Solution
