Atlanta Fertility Clinic Adopts New Staff Scheduling Software
Four ACRM locations streamline nurse scheduling with ScheduleAnywhere
Fargo, N.D. ScheduleAnywhere replaces the clinic's Excel spreadsheet scheduling method and provides real-time communication across the facility's four locations. Now, I create one schedule online and everyone is notified when it's posted."
Nurses have 24/7 access to the most current schedule via ScheduleAnywhere's mobile app. They also can submit cover, swap, time-off and other schedule requests online. The appropriate manager is notified and can see whether the request conflicts with any previously-scheduled shift. The manager can accept or deny the request, and the schedule is immediately updated to reflect changes. Only the nurse or nurses whose schedule is affected by a change will receive a notification.
ScheduleAnywhere tracks attributes such as skills and certifications and allows managers to communicate with individuals, or a select group of employees, to fill open shifts with qualified personnel.
"When someone calls in sick, I am responsible for filling that shift," said Middlebrook. "With ScheduleAnywhere, I can pull up the schedule on my phone, scroll through to see who is scheduled at each clinic and send a text asking someone to come in or advising a nurse to report to a different location. Now, I spend less time managing staffing issues, so I have more time to focus on day-to-day operations."
Additionally, ScheduleAnywhere performs staffing calculations based on census counts or acuity numbers and calculates hours per patient day to ensure proper shift coverage and staffing ratios. Managers can enter staffing requirements and instantly see whether they have too few or too many employees scheduled and can check coverage by skill, position, shift, department or location.
