Founded in 1991, the company began offering DOS-based labor scheduling solutions. In 1995, ABS expanded its offerings to include a Windows-based application for employee scheduling called Visual Staff Scheduler®. Over the years, ABS’s portfolio grew to include PC software titles to streamline business processes in the areas of human resources, employee scheduling, appointment scheduling, business planning, and financial forecasting.

In 2003, ABS became the first company to develop a product for use inside QuickBooks®, when Intuit chose ABS’s business planning technology for QuickBooks Premier and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. ABS and Intuit joined forces again in 2004 to develop additional features for the QuickBooks 2004 product lineup. In 2004, ABS released ScheduleAnywhere®, the company’s first Software as a Service.
